Summary of this Book...
This is book six in the "Irish Village Mystery" series and continues the romance between Siobhán O'Sullivan and Macdara Flannery and the family story of the O'Sullivan six, this time in a brand new location (remote and unique!) with some truly unusual Christmas traditions and a bunch of fun interspersed with the big murder and a lot of drama between suspects and family drama.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like Ireland, mysteries, cozy mysteries (it's currently ranked #970 in Cozy Craft & Hobby Mysteries on Amazon but the craft/hobby part is minor... unless you consider being a musician to be a hobby), light romance, family drama, suspense, action and/or humor.
I especially liked... | ||
I have loved Siobhán and Dara (Macdara) and most of Siobhán's siblings characters through the whole series and I continued that (I'm not sure about James and the teenagers went through some trying times in previous books but what teenager doesn't?). I love how Siobhán puts family first yet gets her garda job done.
I didn't like... | ||
The end. I thought it was kind of rude.. though I imagine it was meant to be playful and maybe most people will see it that way.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next book (so I requested it from my library). Just because the end was rude didn't mean the rest wasn't great.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was Siobhán most of the time (except when she was keeping things to herself.. I guess that was necessary to keep the mystery but it did bring me out of the story).
The author of this Book...
From Amazon: "Carlene O'Connor is the USA Today bestselling author of the acclaimed Irish Village Mysteries and the Galway Ireland Mysteries. She comes from a long line of Irish storytellers. Her great-grandmother emigrated from Ireland filled with tales in 1897 and the stories have been flowing ever since. Of all the places across the pond she's wandered, she fell most in love with a walled town in County Limerick and was inspired to create the town of Kilbane, County Cork. Carlene currently divides her time between Chicago and the Emerald Isle. Please visit her online at CarleneOConnor.net."
I recommend this Book because...
It was a fun read. | ||
Further Comments... | ||
I borrowed this book from my local library. It's available for "free" through the Kindle Unlimited program. The paperback will be coming out soon and is currently listed at a much cheaper price than the hardcover.
