Grace lives a quiet life in her country cottage with her boyfriend, cat, and her job at a local nursery. On the surface she seems to live a charmed life, but there is a dark cloud that shrouds her resulting from the death of her best childhood friend Charlie several years prior. One day, coming across a cryptic letter written by Charlie as a teenager, Grace unwittingly opens a box of secrets which will eventually come to endanger her own life, and tear her calm existance apart....

People who like psychological thrillers. A holiday or light hearted read.

The book was easy to read and the story was quite compelling and made you want to read on. There were a few twists in the plot although some of them you could see coming. I also liked the fact the book was set in England at a time I would have been a similar age to the main characters.

The main character of Grace was a bit irritating, a bit too stereotypical, and not really someone I could relate to. I found that the writer's style could be a bit too descriptive also, it felt a lot of time like she was pointing out the obvious which could be tedious.

Get out of lockdown.

It is easy to read and it is quite a good story with lost of different things happening. The timeline switches between the past when Grace is a child/teenager and the present when she is an adult, which keeps bringing new ideas in to the plot.
