Summary of this Book...
Eve Ronin is back in book two of this action-packed detective series. Eve, due to her viral "deathfist" video (book one), became the youngest homicide detective in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

This book starts with a horrible wildfire that uncovers a whole lot of bodies. The first one assigned to Eve and her partner Duncan turns out to be a lot more complicated than expected and brings so much danger to Eve her life is in peril more than once.

As she unravels the case she uncovers corruption that runs deep, and high. She risks her life and career for justice.

There were enough twists, turns and action scenes to keep me interested the whole way through. I love Eve's character and enjoyed this book greatly.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like a strong heroine, a good mystery, thrillers, action-packed books, detective stories, forensics and/or police dramas. There's also some family drama mixed in.
I especially liked...
Eve's character. I just love Eve. She's strong. She always aims to do the right thing, no matter how much pressure she's under. She's smart, humble and even funny.

I love that, as tense as the book got, I also laughed here and there throughout it.

I enjoyed Duncan's interrogation scene. It was nice to see his strengths displayed as more than just a support character for Eve.

I liked the surprise twist at the end, even if it's also going to make the next list (what I didn't like).
I didn't like...
The only part that didn't work for me was the motivation of the killer. And the age of one of his victims. I don't think that really fit his profile. But I did like how she figured out that it was him and how she worked that last scene with him.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Be amazing like Eve. Read the next book. Sadly, it's not published yet but I definitely plan to read it when it is.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was living Eve's adventure.
The author of this Book...

I recommend this Book because...
It was a great read and kept my interest throughout.
I don't recommend this Book because...
There is a great deal of violence, corruption and more talk about some very difficult subjects than some people would be comfortable with.
