Obviously, this is a great gift for first-time mums to receive at their baby shower and a treat for those with little ones still running naked throughout the house. But older, eh, more experienced mums will enjoy the raw honesty and not-quite crude humor too.

Hello, it says all you need to know right on the cover! There are too many sleep-deprived women striving to be the perfect parent. There are too many holier than thou types that look down on any mum that confesses that motherhood is hard. This book is relatable because it is real.

My main complaint is that the book is too long. I put it down several times halfway through because she was trying to prove certain points with only slightly different stories. While I love the overall message of power and unity the author spreads, there are times that her opinion almost comes off as judgemental. I suppose it depends on the individual reader.

Originally, I got this as a Kindle freebie. After reading it, I bought the paperback edition to give to my oldest daughter to read between cleaning spit up off the couch and baby shit from her hair.

This book gave me hope that women will someday understand the importance of being honest with themselves and each other.

With my first daughter, I experienced postpartum psychosis. I truly thought my sweet newborn hated me and would be better off without me in her life. I'm not saying that this book would have changed the chemical imbalance I had, but I would like to think that if I had a book similar to this one I may have been open to the idea that something wasn't quite right.
