This wasn't my favourite book of the series. It was terrible, and it was a quick read, but it lacked some of the nuance of the previous books, and generally felt lacklustre.

A particular character's backstory felt rushed (there may be more to come, I haven't read the rest of the series yet), but it left more questions than answers, and not in the good cliffhanger kind of way. This was more of the "why did we brush past so much of that" kind of way.

It was still a fun read, and there was some character growth. I wouldn't say it was 'phoned in', but there's better books in the series.
