Ianthe is a divorced, independent knitter who has fallen into the routine of writing and sending letters for the people in her village, as well as knitting their sweaters, hats, and baby blankets. This earns her enough money to get by.

Geoff is the king. He leaves the palace on a mission to find a wife after his Queen passes away. He stumbles upon Ianthe's humble home and falls head over hills, making him wonder if a more simple life wouldn't be more appealing.
