Summary of this Book...
Dead Silence is the second book in the Foundlings series. It focuses on multiple people throughout, including a man known only as The Angler, who is a murderous psychopath, Amelia Crenshaw Haines, an investigative genealogist who helps others find their families, her friend, Jessie, who takes in foster children, a special little boy known as Little Boy Blue and Stockton Barnes, an NYPD missing persons detective.

Amelia, who is having marital problems, goes to stay with her friend Jessie and her husband who live in a giant yellow victorian and care for foster children. At least they used to. They vowed to stop, but then Little Boy Blue came along--a sweet boy who hasn't spoken since coming to stay with the family.

The Angler is a man who fishes for women. He throws most of them back, but sometimes he finds one worth keeping. That's how it was for Little Boy Blue's mother, who the Angler kidnapped and forced to be his lover for several years--resulting in the birth of Little Boy Blue. After the Angler kills the boy's mother and dumps the boy in an Amish farmer's field, believing him to be dead, the Angler returns to his family in Canada...

Until he finds out that the boy is alive, and living with Jessie and her family. He must get the boy back before he talks...and finish the job of silencing him forever.
I especially liked...
I liked the fast-paced nature of this book and the suspense. Most of the characters were unique and well-written. However, there were just too many characters to keep up with in this book. Stockton Barnes and his two friends were some of them. I struggled to stay interested in their story.
I didn't like...
The entire storyline with Stockton Barnes. I get that he is a prominent character in the series, but in this book, he didn't really fit. Nothing about him in this story mattered except that he reaches out to Amelia at the end to help him find his daughter, who we're pretty sure is Amelia.
This Book made me feel...
Creeped out by the Angler. He was such a well-written character.
I recommend this Book because...
it's a good, suspenseful read.
