Summary of this Book...
This book has such a positive outlook on life that it is impossible, no matter how accomplished a person is, not to get something out of it. To say that it is a method toward a happier life would be short-changing the author’s words because I think the ideas in the book, if exercised, can lead to not only a happier life but also to an integrated self.

The journeys of transformation are not easy but if we have signposts along the way, we would probably do much better. While reading it, I wished I had this book while I was raising my children. I would have advised them better because this book draws such a good map even as a passenger-seat navigator, one couldn’t make a mistake.

In the writing of this book, the author used his engineering expertise on his ways of handling life, and as one reads it, it is impossible not to pluck a few pointers for one’s own life, be it for one’s attitude, confidence, success, or release from stress. It is an emotional how-to tool.

A few things that shone for me are--in the author’s own words: “Try to move from a feeling of “HAVE TO” to “GET TO.” “It’s all about the solution.” “Never underestimate the ability of people to spot insincerity.” and the most important for all to do, “A critical part of creating a bigger circle is to be able to share in the joy and happiness of others.” He also warns us to be beware of the ghost in us, as the ghost is the nay-sayer that sees the worst sides of events and people. He also named his ghost Ed, which made me name mine. He says, “The ghost is only threatened by a contemporary being the center of attention” and “Some ghosts are bigger than others. Hopefully, yours is small, but we all have one.”

The chapters in the book have catchy titles, too, such as Make Your Own Weather and Celebrate the Absence of Bad News.

The book has a clear, concise, and conversational tone, which makes the reader think he or she is in a conversation with the author.

In short, I enjoyed this book so much that I decided to read it at least once every year, so the positivity of it sticks.
