This is the second in Sophie Kinsella's fun Fairy Mom and Me series. Ella is the little girl who is the heroine of the story and this book's main theme was that she wanted to be a fairy already and not have to wait until she was an adult, especially because she was better at remembering fairy spells than her mom and seemed to pay better attention to her mom's lessons on Fairy Tube (she watched them out of view of her mom's fairy mentor but her mom knew she was there... so kind of secretly but not really). Eventually Ella gives in to temptation and things go hilariously wrong but in the end, it all works out okay.

Sophie takes a modern view of fairies and it's fun to see all her modernized fairy ideas in action as Ella and her mom have all kinds of mishaps (aka adventures). The adventures were a bit loonier this time, which was good because I'd already become used to the novelty of modernized fairy life through Kinsella's eyes.

Children and adults who want a dose of fairy fun.

Feeling like I was in Ella and her mom's wacky world.

Read the next one. Unfortunately, my library doesn't have it yet. (I borrowed the hard cover copy of this reviewed from my library. As there wasn't an ASIN for that version I used the Kindle version but I didn't actually read the Kindle version. However, I suspect they're exactly the same.)

Like I was in on the secret fairy adventures of Ella, her mom, her aunt and her grandmother.

Is hilarious and probably best known for her Shopaholic series. I will likely read everything she ever writes.

It was a fun break and very entertaining.

The illustrator, Marta Kissi, does as great a job with this book as she did with the first. I only wish the inside illustrations were in color. I think that'd make the books even more fun. Maybe in the Kindle version they are in color though?
