The book is one of Jude Devereaux's breakout Mystery series and certainly had a lot of twists and turns as the three main characters, who do not really want to be involved, get tangled up in solving the murder of a seemingly liked old lady. As the story unfolds, we find that the murder is related to the past and keeps the reader guessing! I enjoyed the story with its interesting plot and wanted to find out what happened. The end was brilliant and was rather intriguing, giving me pause. Certainly it bore out the title!

It was a light read with only a bit of romance, but friendship is a strong theme.

While I did have fun reading, I was not strongly pulled to read others in the series unless they cross my path.

Readers of Mystery. It is different from other Jude Devereaux novels.
