I love this book. It isn't without its flaws, as I found the MC's character development to stall in the middle of the book. His inability to take anything seriously became a hindrance to the overall story. Once that faded out, and the story took the MC more seriously again, everything was fine.

Hutchinson's plain, straightforward style is perfectly suited to the book, allowing the comedy to shine. It's not simply slapstick trickery, but genuine comedy, and at times, laugh-out-loud funny.

The cast is fantastically flawed, interesting, and amusing. It is not as nuanced as Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but it stands on its own just fine.

I will definitely continue with the series.
