Summary of this Book...
This is an informative book, only 61 pages, mostly written to praise the positives of Reiki, which I didn’t know much about and read the book, thinking wrongfully that it was a somewhat fictional novel of an old Japanese man and an American after World War II, told by the American’s grandson, as I love reading the stories involving World War II. I believe now, after finishing the book, it is meant to be a short introductory pamphlet to Reiki.

Since the other reviewers are praising this book to high heaven, I think those reviewers are already the practitioners of Reiki. For someone who knows nothing about it, the book sounds murky and secretive. This is because, first, one has to know much more about Reiki to understand this book. Second, for me, some of the lessons were too short and too vague almost like riddles, which I admit is mostly due to my ignorance of the practice.

It is possible that due to the nature of Reiki, some things cannot be put into words but have to be experienced. Otherwise, I would have liked more in-depth explanations and stories involving Reiki. At the end of the book is a list of organizations and media that can be important to people and students of this practice.

Still, the book was good reading and it prompted me to check out a few Reiki videos on YouTube. I think it would be a good idea to offer this book to eager Reiki applicants rather than presenting it to the general public.

This type of Book is good for...
being introduced to far-out practices of the humankind.
I especially liked...
the beginning story
I didn't like...
how the book didn't explain anything while trying to explain something.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
know more about Reiki
This Book made me feel...
incompetent.
The n/a of this Book...
is Steve Zimcosky, a Reiki master.
Further Comments...
Read at your own risk. I think it throws an idea or ideas at the reader like riddles and expects you understand and solve them without knowing anything. Reiki, in my opinion, is something one can learn through practice and not from a book.
