Ten guests go to a secluded inn for the weekend. Then an ice storm sets in, making it impossible for anyone to leave and cutting the power. When a guest is murdered, it can only mean one of them is the murderer.

It’s not the most original plot, but the twists and turns and constant changing of who looks the most guilty makes it an exciting, fast-paced read. I loved it! I could imagine the fear of being trapped with only fading iPhone torch lights and a hostile environment outside. As more people were murdered, I must have changed my mind a million times about who I thought did it. In the end, right before the denouement, I made my final guess ... and I got it right!

Anyone who loves a fast-paced thriller. People who love mysteries. People who love psychological thrillers, in particular. This book really does mess with your mind.

The suspense. The mystery. The story. The way I felt I was sitting in he lobby with he rest of the guests, in he waning light, and not knowing who I could trust.

Buy the author’s novel I don’t already have (so I did).

Happy. I feel satisfied. I want to tell others about it.

I’ve read one book from Shari Lapena before (‘The Couple Next Door’) and I enjoyed it, but not as much as this one. I’m looking forward to reading ‘A Stranger In The House.’

It’s a quick, easy, enjoyable read.
