Book 4 in the Anne of Green Gables Series finds Anne beginning a new chapter in her life; principal of the Summerside school. Newly engaged Anne must overcome her homesickness for Avonlea and Green Gables while facing various challenges in her new home. Anne is now an educated, mature young woman and lives an independent life while still retaining her feistiness.

The book is good for a lazy day of relaxing and dreaming.

I love being witness to Anne's growth as she realizes how she has the ability to affect the lives of others.

Often, the book features letters to Anne's fiance which seem very detailed and drawn out.

After reading this book, I will continue onto the next in the series.

This book made me feel nostalgic for a simpler time in the world.

Lucy M. Montgomery wrote this book as the seventh in the series, but chronologically, the book is fourth in the series, which is how I am reading them.

Many have read the entire Anne of Green Gables series, but I have not. As a child, I only read the first two. I am now revisiting my old friend Anne as an adult and I'm enjoying it more than ever.
