Former child psychologist, Dr. Anna Fox, sufferers from agoraphobia after an accident. Struggling with being confined to her home, she spends her days playing online chess, counseling others anonymously in an online community, drinking a little more wine than she should and spying on her neighbors from her window. When a new family moves in, she witnesses something terrible. Because of her heavy drinking and strong medication, no one believes her when she speaks out.

Fans of psychological thrillers will enjoy this book. There also a lot of elements of an old noir movie, which adds to the suspense.

I felt a connection to Dr. Anna Fox. The character is relatable, flawed, and very real. Because I was so wrapped up with her, I didn't see the twists and turns the way I normally do. I was actually surprised at them, which is refreshing.

Since this is his first book, I'm looking forward to reading from this author.

Although the author of this book is a man, he captured a woman's point of view very well. His writing style seems oldfashioned, but with clever plot twists and plenty of anticipation.

This dark thriller captivated me from the beginning and help my attention so well that I stayed up well beyond my normal bedtime to finish reading it.
