Years ago, a scientist forced an AI to go through the natural selection process with other AIs. Only the strongest survived, and as the winner, the AI was powerful and, essentially, sentient. Which is, of course, dangerous. The scientist wanted to pull the plug but was denied by the government.

Instead, he trapped it and began working on a counter measure. His son was terminally ill and severely disabled (and also huge into computer programming). The scientist created a way to transfer his son's personality and intelligence into a machine, saving his life as well as creating an enemy that could possibly save the world from a rampaging AI. A creative human being with the calculating power of an AI.

Thus, the government created weapons... giant killing robots, each containing a formerly dying teenager's mind and personality.

Scifi fans?

The description of a person waking up AS a computer were super cool. The ability to transfer files from a robot to, say, a flying droid? Also cool. The details of the experience were super fun. Watching them learn how to fully utilize their new systems was awesome.

Nothing. It was a solid book. Fast paced... quite clever.
