Summary of this Book...
A girl with a talent for profiling people gets recruited for a secret FBI program. The "Naturals" program is for teens who have natural abilities that will help solve cold cases and, eventually, active cases. Each teen has a specialty: reading emotions on people's faces, an uncanny ability to lie and detect when someone else is lying, the ability to analyze complex mathematics in seconds as well as remember every inane detail and fact... Each teen developed their abilities through trauma. The books in the series seem to focus on each team member.
This type of Book is good for...
Though this is not a supernatural (super hero) type of story... I think it would appeal to people who like that type of thing. Also people who like reading about traumas and serial killers and crime novels.
I especially liked... | ||
The characters are all damaged. The MC is a bit on the bland side, despite an interesting backstory. Her mother was a fake psychic... so she grew up on the road. Her mom taught her the basics of how to profile people-- behavior, personality, environment. Her mother was murdered years prior... no body was recovered, but her dressing room was soaked in blood. This mystery is unwound throughout the series. Each character has a similarly traumatic backstory only hinted at in book one.
I didn't like... | ||
Ummm... nothing, to be honest. It's fast paced, tightly written. Definitely a page turner and easy read. There's nothing to not like here. Though the ending was a little... far fetched.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the next in the series. And I did.
