Summary of this DVD...
A doll maker, Samuel Mullins, is crafting a new piece of work - the doll that would later be known as Annabelle. While working, Samuel gets a small note from his daughter Annabelle/"Bee" to play hide-and-seek. Samuel finds her and starts tickling her, joined by his wife Esther.

The Mullins family later goes to church. A patron asks Samuel when his next batch of dolls will be ready, and Esther says they are good to go. On the way home, the family gets a flat tire. Esther sees a car coming and tries to flag it down. As Samuel is removing the tire, a bolt comes loose. Bee goes to grab it but doesn't see the car coming, and it fatally strikes her.

Twelve years later, a nun, Sister Charlotte, is traveling in a van with six orphaned girls - Janice, Linda, Carol, Nancy, Kate, and Tierney. Janice and Linda are best friends, but Janice is disabled due to suffering from polio. The girls arrive at the Mullins home as they have opened it up to them as their new home. The girls go pick out their rooms. Janice and Linda get a room to themselves. Janice tries to go into what used to be Bee's room, but Samuel tells her that the room must stay locked at all times. Since Janice had a trouble with sleep and was intrigued by the mystery of Bee's room, few night after she manage to get up and enter the room where she finds the Annabelle doll, locked in the closet, whose walls were covered with pages from the Bible and she releases the demons stuck in it and brings the curse of the doll on herself.
This type of DVD is good for...
People who love horror movies and who are easy to be scared. Movie is full of CGI effects and unexpected scenes, sudden movements that anyone with a weak heart can get the attack. I had a few twitches as well.
I especially liked...
The music. "You are my sunshine" song gave me creeps.
I didn't like...
The story of how Annabelle doll became haunted by Bee. Bee died in an accident- her parents stopped on the road to change the tire and Bee was hit by another car after she tried to reach for runaway screw and died. Some time after her ghost appeared in front of her mother then her father and they were getting along very well until she didn't ask for permission to enter the doll her father made. After that BOOM! Bee became evil. Just like that. For no reason at all. I thought it was stupid. Everyone would expect happy ending after she entered the doll but out of nothing they made her evil and turned a movie into horror. I don't like nonsensical story plots. Also, I didn't like the ending. The evil ghost of Annabelle wasn't locked back in the closet with the walls of Biblical pages so that it can stay there forever. It now entered into Janice and she became evil which means there will be another nonsensical Annabelle movie in the future... I'm definitely not watching it again.
This DVD made me feel...
Disappointed. I was expecting much more since the official trailer looked scary and haunting but all we got was so many CGI, screams, and "blah" story line.
The cast of this DVD...
Stephanie Sigman as Sister Charlotte,
Talitha Bateman as Janice,
Tree O'Toole as adult Janice / Annabelle Higgins,
Lulu Wilson as Linda,
Anthony LaPaglia as Samuel Mullins,
Miranda Otto as Esther Mullins,
Alicia Vela-Bailey as Evil Esther Mullins,
Grace Fulton as Carol,
Philippa Coulthard as Nancy,
Samara Lee as Annabelle "Bee" Mullins,
Tayler Buck as Kate.
I recommend this DVD because...
If you are not a huge horror fan but like to watch horror from time to time for the sake of Halloween spooks or something, then this movie is great choice. Like I said, there were some sudden scenes that made me twitch but it was only because I didn't expect them to happen, not necessarily because they were scary to me.
I don't recommend this DVD because...
The story plot is stupid and not impressive as you might think it is.
