The story begins with an American tourist being devoured by a black skittering mass deep in the jungles of Peru as an unknown terror starts to take over the world.

It does contain some historical notes, which is somewhat educational.

The chapters are short (5 to 8 pages on average), making it a quick paced story.

There are a lot characters in this with the setting constantly changing from one country to another, which might lead to some confusion for some readers.

Apparently this is the first book in a series for Ezekiel Boone, with the second one, Skitters, just coming out. I'll be certain to read that as well.

Although I'm not afraid of bugs, if I were I'd probably be having nightmares.

This is the first time I've read Boone, but his prose is original and well done.

Any fan of scientific horror will like this book.

This is a fresh take on horror, and the idea is very original. Ezekiel Boone is an upcoming horror author in his own write (sic), and I think his name will become more well known in the future.
