As a love story, this novel engages the reader and the reading of it is very enjoyable.

The story starts when, a year after her fiancé Wyatt's death, Elle the artist moves in with her brother Vic. Elle's specialty is an art object made by putting together broken pieces of glass in heart shapes. Although she still mourns for Wyatt, when she runs into her brother's friend Oliver Hart, MD, who was an old flame, her emotions for Oliver flare up again. Oliver was her one true love and vice versa, but he broke her heart several times over. Then, there's that problem with Elle's brother who sees Oliver as a player and possibly not good for his sister. So far this is the set up for the story.


There are a few small conflicts in the story to overcome, such as the brother Vic, Elle's inner doubts and turmoil and her bit of childishness, and the residues of Oliver's earlier commitment problems. All these small problems were handled very easily, but look as I tried, I couldn't find one central conflict in the entire story to give it the necessary depth that could make this novel rise to a first-class work status, which is a p­­­­­ity because otherwise it is well-written and interesting, and the author does a good job of getting into the main character's head.

entertaining. To tell the truth, it is one of the better books I read in the Romance genre, despite my reservations in a couple of areas.
