Summary of this DVD... | ||
34 year old Nancy is single and cynical when it comes to relationships. Traveling to her parents wedding anniversary celebrations in London, an unlikely encounter on the train leads to her being mistaken for someone's blind date when she arrives at Waterloo Station - but instead of owning up, she suddenly decides to take a chance and pretend that she is in fact, the date in question. This of course leads to farcical revelations and bemused accusations but in the end, could she have been the right date after all?
This type of DVD is good for...
lighthearted humour, girls night in, when you want something easy to watch where you don't have to figure out what's happening. A good film to watch whilst traveling A feel good movie.
I especially liked... | ||
The fact it was set in England - I really like movies set in my home country because I like to recognise the places featured and with comedies, I find British comedy much more humorous and thought there were quite a few funny bits in this film! I also liked the main two actors in the film.
I didn't like... | ||
Some of the humour was a bit silly and slapstick for me. The ending was very predictable and of course, unrealistic - but that is usually what you get in romantic comedies!
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Get off the train! | ||
This DVD made me feel...
Relaxed. | ||
The cast of this DVD... | ||
The main characters are Simon Pegg and Lake Bell - I'd never heard of the latter, although I thought she was quite good and not your typical unrealistically stunning movie girl type with impossible hair - she was more girl next door looking. Simon Pegg has been in loads of things, although I don't think I have seen many of his films. I thought he was really good in this film.
I recommend this DVD because...
As a romantic comedy it is actually quite funny - a lot of British humour. The plot line is quite good and the main characters play their parts well. It also has a good soundtrack. I'm not sure I would bother going to see it at the cinema, but it was great to watch on the train!
I don't recommend this DVD because...
It's a bit predictable and too silly in some places.
