Summary of this Book...
This is a fictional story about a relationship that a young starlet has with a mega star who is a member of a religion that controls every aspect of his life. The young starlet gets sucked in by the charm and glamour of the celebrity life, but eventually realizes that it is a trap from which it is very hard to escape. It is presented as told to a writer who "ghost writes' it for star, Lizzie Pepper, but the implication and the similarities are hard to ignore. It sure seems like it is the Katie Holmes experience, told in such a way that she cannot be touched legally by her ex-husband's team of barracuda lawyers. So, in this way she gets the story out. Real life movie star, Nia Vardalos, has an interesting note on the book jacket. This shows the horrifying existence that one endures when they cross the Church of you know what. I just read Leah Remini's book and I would be surprised if she didn't have a hand in this one too. Deliciously intriguing to wonder if this is the way that big star of Risky Business lives his life. Scary and horrifying. It almost had me feeling sorry for him, but with the way his cult treats people, it is hard to summon much sympathy for such a selfish and ruthless individual. I liked Katie Holmes before and I like her better now. Very smart girl with some ace advisers.
This Book made me feel...
like I thought Tom Cruise was nuts before, but this really convinced me that he is totally off his rocker. I guess the way he treated Nicole Kidman at the time of their split was a big clue to anyone who was paying attention. I wouldn't want to be under his spell or controlling ways. He sounds rather monstrous in this book in an oozingly charming and very rich way. Now, when I think of Satan, I will picture him I think sometimes. Yikes!
I recommend this Book because...
it is fun to read. It is not a great book or a particularly well written book. It is just pure and simple voyeurism and entertainment.
