Summary of this DVD...
Mr. hooves has always been a fan of this show, but it is on too late at night for me to stay awake for it. Thanks to Netflix, we can watch it commercial free and after watching the first season, I have to admit that I love the show.

It is the story of the Reagan family. The grandfather is a former Police Commissioner in NY and the father (Tom Selleck) is the current police Commissioner. His son, Joe, has been recently killed in the line of duty. Two other sons, Danny and Jamie are both on the force and the sister (Bridget Moynahan) works in the D.A.'s office as an attorney. Jamie has a law degree from Harvard, but he has chosen to be a cop instead.

The whole family (4 generations including little grandkids) gets together every week for Sunday dinner.

This show is interesting and heartwarming at the same time, with lots of humor interspersed with tragedy. The first season centers around Jamie trying to find out what really happened in the shooting of his brother Joe. This is resolved in the last episode of the season.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who enjoys a good cop series in the style of NYPD Blue or Hill Street Blues.
I especially liked...
Donnie Wahlberg as Danny. He is hilarious. I had no idea he was New Kid on the Block teen idol.
The cast of this DVD...
is outstanding although it is not believable to me that Len Cariou is Tom Selleck's father. I looked it up and the age difference between them is only like 6 years.
I recommend this DVD because...
it is a great show and it is on Netflix. I look forward to binge watching more of it. This Netflix is a way to enjoy stuff you might have missed or overlooked on Network TV.
