Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is the 5th season of Downton Abbey. Do not read on if you haven't seen it yet, because I may spoil it for you. In this season, Mary continues her steps back into life. Edith learns of the death of Michael Gregson and obsesses on little Marigold who she first gives to a couple in Switzerland, than palms off on Farmer Drew and his wife. Edith is a big pain in the butt throughout this season. Tom Branson is trying to figure out what he wants to do. Robert loses his beloved dog Isis and almost loses Cora. He seems more upset about Isis than Cora, although he does get a bit jealous. Bates and Anna have trouble with the law over Greene's death. More of the same for them. Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes grow closer together, while Daisy tries to better herself through learning. She does it with the help of Sarah Bunting, until that whole thing comes to a head at one of the family's dinners and Sarah decides to go.
I especially liked... | ||
the humorous remarks that Mary makes about Edith and the fact that in the end Mary doesn't choose Tony Gillingham.
I didn't like... | ||
the whole Bates and Anna mess. I hated it - it's just more of the same from before with her in jail this time and him visiting. Dopey plot line.
I recommend this DVD because...
I like the whole series. I liked this year better than last year, but not as much as the first two years. Those were the best for me. I think Matthew going threw the whole thing into disarray.
