Summary of this Book...
Sophie's life and marriage falls apart when her little daughter becomes seriously ill with cancer and dies. Sophie was already hurt with her mother's early death, but she meets her again when she has an accident and lives after dying for forty minutes. During her near-death experience, she sees her mother Cora who left her when she was fourteen. Cora's story is more beautiful than Sophie's and is well written in a diary. Both stories aim to show the power of love and hope. Truth is, I couldn't get into this book all that deeply, maybe because I felt the characters to be less developed and a bit on the shallow side for this kind of a plot. Still, the book could be an enjoyable read for other readers, as it has some fluidity and a gripping quality.

Further Comments... | ||
I neither recommend nor not-recommend this book. I've read other better-written near-death experience stories. This one, although it stages some complicated psychological issues, is on the lighter side.
