Connor is working on repairs at an orphanage when Dan returns a child after a holiday. Connor is furious that Dan could treat a child so poorly - to give them a glimpse of what they could have, then return them to their miserable life. When he receives a call to do some work for Dan, he refuses, but is coerced into going around to quote for the job. He realises he is mistaken about Dan and that there is a lot more beneath the surface of this man than he could have dreamed possible.

Anyone who loves a good romance story and isn't afraid of a tear jerker.

Emotionally exhausted. I was living the story as I read it, going through all the emotional highs and lows with the characters. It was not a bad thing, on the contrary, it was amazing writing. I felt like I'd lived a whole life by the time I put the book down.

Andrew Grey has a beautiful way of writing emotion so that it really touches the reader. We fall in love with his main characters and the supporting characters as well. We cry with them and we cheer them on to their happily ever afters.

Sometimes I feel like Andrew Grey's books could be much shorter if the book was only focused on the developing romance between the two main characters. But I'd hate for him to change anything about these books, because I get engrossed in the story and in the lives of not only the main characters, but the supporting characters too. And isn't real life like that too - not just two people, but a whole cast?
