The way the story was woven together, with flashbacks and present story counterbalancing one another.

Some confusing/not well explained plot elements near the end of the story.

This is the second book in a series of 3, each featuring one princess/sister. There were elements near the end that did not feel fully explained, pertaining to the ongoing mystery weaving through the series, and the role of certain people from Stefanie's past in the climax of the story.
