Sabriel is the story of a young girl who recently attained the title of Abhorsen and became the power to kill the dead. This girl lives her life in between the two worlds of magic and technology. She is a necromancer who studied in the technological world. But when her father is somehow trapped in Death, she must journey into the Old Kingdom to find him.
Sabriel moves through the long struggle to find her father and banish the Evil that is threatening to take the world.

the magic and world portrayed in the story. The way the bells and the nine gates of hells are shown is intriguing. The magic of Charter and free magic is also quite captivating.

the relationship between the characters. Though there was a lot of potential, I really didn't connect with the developing relationship between the characters. The book was too fast-paced for that.

sit quietly and find the legends from where the story was derived.

creates compelling magic, but there were too many cliches to keep it from fully affecting.

it's a fun read, especially for younger people.

it has head -hopping sort of writing which can be a distraction for some.
