Summary of this Book...
This novel starts out with a woman who is engaged. Her mother, Birdie Cousins, is frantically planning her daughter, Chess' elaborate, over the top wedding. Chess suddenly breaks off the engagement, so the mother, daughter, her sister Tate and Birdie's sister India decide to keep their plans intact to spend the summer month in the family's ancestral cottage on an island off Nantucket. It is very rustic and everything (groceries, ice, etc) has to be delivered by boat every day.

Tate and her sister Chess have always been fascinated by the delivery guy, Bennett Lee, so there is a history there waiting to be resolved. Tate and Chess could not be more different from one another.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who likes a dramatic story about women's relationships with a lot of smart humor.
I especially liked...
the humor and the character of Tate. I found her to be most admirable.
I didn't like...
the easy resolution of the Birdie/Grant situation. That didn't seem believable or plausible. As with most of the books I read these days, the weakness was in the ending, not in most of the book.
This Book made me feel...
like I was reading story written by a writer who I want to explore further. This was quite a good effort.
The author of this Book...
knows how to tell a story with a lot of humor and class.
I recommend this Book because...
it was quick and absorbing reading, which is exactly what I was looking for this week.
