Summary of this Book...
This is a short book and very easy to read. Yet, it is an important book. At the start of it, the author stresses on the importance of truth in his own life and in the lives of nations. Then he cites some historical facts, asking the question of how the Nazis killed 11,283,000 people.

His answer is simple. They lied to people. Their lies were injected in the being of a nation and Europe in general, in small doses, periodically, and continuously. He says, “According to record, what Hitler actually said in his speeches (before he came to power) depended very much upon the audience.” Sound familiar?

Thus, he brings the focus to the present-day problems and the importance of telling the truth by the politicians. Then he questions our apathy in voting, our not taking the responsibility to make a thorough check on the politicians, and our not questioning the wrongs.

Not that what happened in mid-twentieth-century Europe would happen in USA, but it could happen, he thinks. That is, if we keep to the path we’re following.

He adds that to 311+ million Americans, 545 people are in the ruling position: one president, nine supreme court justices, one hundred senators, and 435 representatives of the House. He says if any one of us lies to them it is a felony and if they lie to us it is politics. He is not trying to create anarchy but urging us to take responsibility and ask the right questions, then check on whom we choose.

Many other important points are made in the book and many questions are asked to the reader and to the author himself. These are too complicated to delve into in a short summary, but I found Andrews’ message to be relevant and very important.
I especially liked...
that his intention is to make people think and take proper action.
The author of this Book...
Andy Andrews is a public speaker and best-selling novelist. His other books are The Noticer and The Traveler’s Gift
I recommend this Book because...
Its message of truth is an important, one and he encourages people to take responsibility for what happens to them and others because of the political arena.
Further Comments...
I picked this book, thinking it was about the holocaust, but I got a lot more than what I bargained for, and in a good way. *Smile*
