This is another in the Scotland Yard Inspector Lynley Series of mysteries. A priest dies an awful death from eating hemlock. At first it appears to be an accident, but it is covered up by the local constable who has a sexual relationship with the prime suspect. So, outsiders, Simon and Deborah St. James call in Detective Lynley to investigate.

anyone who enjoys a good mystery with lots of interesting characters.

the character of Polly. I could feel her pain during the assault.

the character of the local Constable. I thought he should have been arrested at the end.

read the next in the Lynley series and I will.

sad for Maggie, the child who was taken from her mother twice.

knows how to write a mystery with a lot of red herrings and twists and turns.

Elizabeth George's books, so far, have been a great joy to read. Her character of Sgt. Havers doesn't appear very much in this book and she is my favorite character. It didn't stop me from enjoying the book and the mystery.
