Summary of this Book...
This is the first in Elizabeth George's Inspector Lynley series. He is a Scotland Yard Detective assigned to a grisly murder case. A man is found decapitated in the arms of his young daughter. His dog is also a victim of foul play and the daugter confessed immediately, but then remains catatonic. The murder takes place in a village famous for the legend of a dead baby in the Abbey many years ago and then not so long ago.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
I especially liked... | ||
the character of Detective Sargent Havers and her attitudes towards her family and Thomas Lynley and how they first started working together. I am going to keep on reading in this series.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read the next book in the series. It is called Payment in Blood.
This Book made me feel...
interested in seeing what happened to the Characters. I read a 2012 novel called, "Believing the Lie" that introduced me to these characters much later on. It made me want to read the series, starting at the beginning.
The author of this Book...
knows how to create interesting characters that draw the reader in to read more even 17 books into the storyline.
I recommend this Book because...
it was a good read. With this and with "Believing the Lie", the reading was more compelling in the last 100 pages.
