The Great Gatsby is a classic that I'd always heard of, and I finally got the chance to read it. It's a love story and a portrait of time in US history called the Jazz Age.

fans of the Jazz Age or someone who wants to read the great American classics, or even readers who love a good love story may appreciate this book.

I liked the tragic ending and that it wasn't a perfect fairy-tale ending.

Honestly, I feel like I missed out on something with this book. Everyone raves about how great it is, a masterpiece of American literature, and I just didn't get it. It felt like a book about rich people partying and not getting to have what they want. Maybe that's a sore spot with me personally, but I couldn't connect with the characters.

Unlike many others, I wasn't required to read this during school, but it was always on my list to read. I wonder what I would have thought of it had I read it as a teenager or younger adult.
