I like to construct poems about dark subjects. Things not always shared with others, but deeply felt. I find the writing process is more of a purging for me. I usually start with a small bit, maybe a line or two that entertains me in some way. Then I will let it sit as a thought for a day or two, coming back to it occasionally, altering, adding, changing. Then when I've thought on it enough, I work it out on paper. Pouring over it working it around until its done, and then its out.
