When parents are jailed for filming their toddlers playing in the paddling pool - when teens are branded for life as a sex offender for mooning their mate's Blackberry and posting it on Facebook - when people get 5 years for rape and 20 years for looking at pictures - the hysteria has overreached itself to the point of absurdity.
