My poem about the everyday struggles that can become overwhelming

The Rising Tide
The alarm clock rings like a warning bell,

A heavy start to a day I know too well.

The floor feels cold, the air is thin,

Wondering how to let the morning in.

Each small demand is a drop of rain,

A steady pulse of a quiet strain.

The emails pile like a mounting wall,

While I try my best to stand up tall.

It’s the silent hum of the "must-do" list,

The moments of peace that are easily missed.

A sea of voices, a rush of feet,

While I'm just trying to stay in my seat.

The water rises, it reaches my chest,

A weary heart in a desperate quest.

To find a shore, a place to land,

Away from the drift of the shifting sand.

But even when the waves start to break,

And I feel there’s more than I can take.

I’ll find a breath, a sliver of light,

To keep on swimming through the night.
