I gathered pens, paper, typewriter, table, chair and headed to the old red boxcar. We lived on a corner section of an old farm and that empty boxcar was my summer writing space back in 1985 after high school graduation. White paper glared back at me from the typewriter. Drawing blanks each day resulted in the commitment lasting a week.
In 2003, I decided to take a stab at writing again. I took creative writing at the community college and became a member here in 2004. Now it is 2024 and I still have not taken the craft seriously. I plan to get busy now with daily writing prompts. It’s time to practice and become great at writing!
