I hear people crying for loved ones lost
I want pain to hurt less and joy to be fuller

I pretend life is perfect masking my true fears
I feel pain for friends who go through hard times
I touch a far away friend long gone
I worry about how life is brushed aside
I cry for those taking life for granted

I understand that life is precious
I say everyone should slow down to appreciate
I dream that I can become my dreams
I hope people can understand the need to take life slowly while it's here
