Words Are Eternal

I cannot give you a flower,
As a representation of my love.

A flower is beautiful,
Especially when accompanied
By the leaves and a vase.

But flowers die,
And my love for you does not.

So then how do I show you how much,
Or how long I will love you?

I give you these words,
As they are true, and untempered.

It is what I have,
And it is something,
A flower cannot give you.
