Wrote this a while ago...would like some feedback on it..
Its never too late that’s what I hear everywhere
fantasies and ecstasies based on futures unknown
well the stories you've heard are right
the ones written by lonely writers on lonely nights
blues and rebels all mixed in one
after a night of drinking nothing but coke and rum

someone once told me a story much like mine
only mine had more vodka and his had more wine
a story of a romantic evening among lovers
where one broke the heart of the other
which broke my heart as well
for as the story goes destiny plays a part
and so it was bound to be a bad thing from the start

rebel blue of this cold windy night
fill your glass and tell me a story
one of a love we have not seen
miles of road to go no one here
but the cool wind and your thoughts
she tilted her head and I couldn’t say no
so I took a sip of my drink and looked into her eyes
and I saw her thinking of me
in the ways that I was thinking of her

so I told her the story of how my heart was broken
a million times by 10 diff women
she was sweet and kind she said she understood
which was nice and it felt kind of good

but I couldn’t understand why she kept watching the clock
my mind was all over the place and I was out of luck
cheated of sort of attention and thought
turns out she had other plans with her TV
well there it was the bane of my existence

so I said I would leave and she said no
I said I'd better but she replenished my drink some more
so I stayed and drank and into her leather couch we sank

we talked some more of lost loves and life
for once it felt normal and for once it was nice
so that’s most of the night I remember
the rest is kind of blurred
she was kind and nice and lets hope she stays that way
and somehow she always had the nicest things to say.
