Silence surrenders to sun-swept dreams,
Bringing visions that burn sweet in the light.
Painted stars darken bitter memories, it seems,
As serene sorrow softly whispers to the night.
Vicious cares wander, aimlessly killing hope,
As the howling past prickles ungently.
Beggars plead for angels to give them rope
To hang themselves, drifting, screaming intently.
Footsteps tiptoe past, death a silky step away,
Reasoning gone, forgiveness laughing to forget.
Peace slinks into shadows, shunning the day,
As a lonely heart gives up, too tired for regret.
Sour nothings sweep over a life of lost desire,
Stomping out anything that dares to shine.
