My first love, what can I say?
Grasshoppers and Lost Ships

Magic in the classroom…
Who would have thought?
But magic dies,
And planes will fly forever,
Past the dust of Bermuda.

But from the dust comes freedom,
And from the freedom comes friendship,
And from the friendship comes you.

No magic in the classroom,
But not quite gone,
When I look at you, across the room,
And we laugh at memories together.

If the sun was made of diamonds,
It would never compare to your smile.
With eyes deeper than thought,
Colored a snowy cold winter.

I still think of you,
And the happiness of the magic,
That has become the dust,
Swirling around me.

I will the winds of summer,
To never sweep this land again,
So that the dust will stay forever,
And the grasshopper,
Either be friend or love,
Won’t dart away from me.
