Story of a small girl and a shyed little boy
A little child looks up at the sunless sky,
Even though grey, her hopes soar high.
Nothing has ever gone wrong in her world,
She has always been her mommy's sweet little girl.

She walks home from school, so happy she could dance.
Until she sees something that catches her glance.
A little boy is standing there, no older then she.
While others are pointing and shout names with glee.

She doesn't know why they call him that name,
The boy looks normal, he looks just the same.
But when she looks again she sees plain as day,
that his arm is bent over in a quiet different way.

She saw the kids' effort to make him cry,
until they saw the silent tear emerge from his eye.
She sees the children leave him there,
cold and heartless, without a care.

When she saw the little boy laying in the dirt,
and she realised he was not only painfully hurt.
A feeling unraveled inside her, as it must have him,
even the dark, greyish sky, appeared more grim.

As she walked slowly towards the crying child,
she reached for his hand so soft, so mild.
The boy looked up, not knowing what to do,
Was she trying to help him? This all seemed so new.

Can she be one of them who called me those names?
Is she involved in their hateful games?
He decided to take the delicate hand.
and slowly felt himself lift out of the sand.

When his hand was in hers, he suddenly knew,
He started to cry, for this was a dream come true.
He looked down at his hand in hers, what an ugly mess,
but she helped him right up, without any distress.

They talked for a while, about this and that.
On a nice little rock, is where they sat.
Although she was a little bit nervous and shy,
She soon forgot while getting to know this amazing guy.

She went home full of helpfulness and pride,
and he went home with a warm feeling inside.
They have been friends ever since that day,
and I have a feeling they shall stay that way.

No matter if a person is different or not,
just lend them a hand, and give them a shot.
Because you never quite know how much it could do,
you could make them feel great, if only for a minute or two.

So next time you see someone looking a little sad.
Lend them a helping hand, it could be the only one they've had.
Remember we are all the same, no matter how ugly the outside may be.
Give a person a chance, you may be surprised. Just trust me.
