In loving memory of John W. Brown I still miss him and we visit in my dreams.
You visited me late last night
and we spoke of our family.
How you loved to hug your grandchildren tight
and how big they were growing to be.
In the morning light I realised it was my
dreaming fantasy. Because my dad's been gone
seven years now, lost to this world and to me.
I miss your chuckle and mischievous grin,
how you loved hearing a joke and would tell
it again.
Oh how I long for your humor once more
cause it's been seven long years since you've
darkened our door.
You treated the world like it was your
very best friend and all were welcome when
you let them in.
We all miss our great humanitarian.
And my heart still longs to see you once more,
cause my daddys been gone seven years.
