Insane People (Including Myself)

There are so many insane people in this city

Flipping there cell phones, looking empty but sitting pretty

I wonder what makes them feel unique, different, as if they exist?

But then what makes me so special?

Because I have ripped jeans and don't wash my hair?

Because I walk with my eyes in a permanent glare?

NO.

I don't know what scares me more:

Being a righteous, unique - freak, or . .

A hip, hot, fashion whore.

I think some would say I've managed a pretty safe - unoffensive balance.

Balance . . . What does that even meen?

I'm in a constant state of compromise, always stuck somewhere inbetween.
