A poem to my dad telling how much he means to me |
FATHER My father - my ever faithful rock how I love you so I think of my life as your daughter and all you did to help me grow. Realise the impact that you've had your words of wisdom on my life through times of joyous laughter and days clouded by strife. Dad how I adore you and admire all you do but what is most important is how I respect you through and through. I stand here now today times of adversity a distant sea I hope that you are proud and pleased of the qualities you see in me. There just seems so much to say one wonders where to start as a daughter I could not ask for more you have inspired and touched my heart. I remember a timeline of help fishing trips, rugby games that we watched and one can not forget the boxing matches that you boxed. Do you remember the colourful conversations dinnertime talks of sex Dad you always took this in your stride one of the things that I loved best. I look in the mirror often and smile at the fact that when I look in the mirror often I see you looking back. Dad because of you I entered the arena of life with self respect and self esteem a belief in true love and the freedom to dream. You are more sensitive than you show but I see you dad and I know. I try to honour what you have done by being the best parent I can be thanks for being my friend being human and a wonderful father to me...X |
