Contest entry. A young man remembers his school crush.
He still remembered
by orient_celts

He still remembered when his heart had beat faster
For a school girl with a golden tresses
and arresting sapphire orbs,
whose family moved in, next door.

He still remembered those five unlucky days
Mustering his courage
that was constantly fleeting
To ask this girl's name.

He still remembered how he had triumphed,
Altheza was her name,
and in red ink letters
Her name on paper was spelt.

He still remembered a blossoming crush he kept
Thinking, it was for the best.
He still remembered the silly hand written poems
All stashed inside the brown box under his bed.

That box now lay on his lap
The browns had turned to dirty grays.
Yet its contents still intact
Even if years had left it damp.

Hemissed Altheza
For she didn't stay that whole summer
Her family moved again
and he had forgotten the village's name.
