Random thoughts on the number 12.
There's something about the number twelve. A multiple of 2, 3, and 6. I like the numbers 2, 3, and 6. 2 is so even, so complete - every other number to infinity is evenly divisible by it. The only even prime. Great. And 3. The Three Musketeers. Three Stooges. Three Kings. Triangles. I love triangles. And 6. 2 times 3 equals 6. Double the greatness (no pun intended). 2 is also the number of souls devoted to each other before God on the altar for eternity. Awesome. Twelve even has its own name: "dozen." Divisible by 4, too. Another perfect number, 4 - 2 times 2, or 2 to the second power, equals 4. 4 times 3 equals twelve. 2 times 6 equals twelve. Twelve times 1 is itself, all within itself. It's twelve o'clock; it's noon. It's twelve o'clock; it's midnight. One second ago we were in the world of PM but midnight - twelve - leads the next twelve hours into AM. Noon - twelve - leads the next twelve hours into PM. The clock, twelve is the master at the top - its noble 3, 6, and 9 in a diamond. 9 is cool, too. Its noble 4 and 8 in a triangle. 8 is cool, too. The 1 and the double-1 are also noble friends. Twelve is the middle child of cool little sister eleven, stupid big brother thirteen (cheap baker's dozen). Twelve times 5 is 60, 60 seconds, 60 minutes, twelve hours. Zero is cool, too. It all whirls back to twelve. Then there's 212. 200 plus twelve equals 212. 2 times 100 equals 200. 100 is an awesome number, too. All those zeros. 10 times 10 equals 100. 100 divided by 4 equals 25. 25 equals 5 times 5 - 5 squared. So numeric. Oh! It's 2:12 PM. It's 2:12 AM. I am headed towards room 212. Excuse me, where can I find 212 South Blah-Blah Avenue? There are 212 pages in this book. This movie is 212 minutes long. 212 - put it in a mirror, you still got 212. Sort of. If all digits were converted into animals, would something like "frog plus frog equals bear" be true? Frog-bear-frog plus fish-cat-fish equals pig-fish-fish?
