My first attempt at a sestina. Any suggestions? |
The sweetly scented crystal sea, Glistens softly with the ocean breeze, Caresses me softly, kissing my skin. I am sultry dancing in heaven’s bliss. Lost in the moment ~ Hidden in time, My heart glows against the moonlight. Watch me dance in the moonlight. Listen to the waves crashing from the sea. Release your worries. Forget about time. Feel the supple salty breeze, Heat on your flesh, lost in a moment of bliss. Send me to heaven with the touch of your skin. Let me breathe in the scent from your skin Our bodies shimmering in the moonlight, I am lost in your trance, filled with bliss. Enchanted by the sea, Taken to another place by the ocean breeze, Love has found us in the nick of time. Our bodies entwine. Hold me through time. I want to feel your passionate kisses upon my skin, In the crisp midnight breeze. The ocean sparkling from the moonlight, Come dance with me in the sea. The magic from our kiss. Oh, to feel the bliss! Your fingers trace my flesh. Lost in bliss. We are one for the time, Dancing with the crystal sea. Cool waters travel our heated skin. Your eyes luminous in the moonlight, Our passion succumbs to the ocean breeze. You left me in the cooling breeze, After our moment of bliss. I shall not forget our dance in the moonlight, When we were lost in the moment of time, When I felt your heated skin, Amongst the tide of the sea. I will dream of our night under the moonlight. We felt the ocean breeze. We danced in the tides of the sea. Our sensations filled with loving bliss. I will be lost within you for all time. Remembering your heated kiss upon my skin. ***What is a Sestina? A sestina is a 39-line poem with the very strictest of rules. There are six stanzas, each with six lines. Each line ends with one of six selected words; these words are repeated at the end of the other sentences and must be placed in a particular order. The finale is three lines, repeating the six words, and the six words must appear in designated order.*** |
