the could have's and could have never's of God's love |
He could have immediately destroyed Satan, He could have saved His Son; He could have made the Law, but no Grace, He could have never paid the price. He could have forced our love, He could have turned His back from above; He could have all of Heaven kept, He could have ignored us, in our debt. He could have not created Time, He could have never let His Glory shine; He could have hidden the sea to shining sea, He could have let us die eternally. He could have never given us a soul, He could have not let us have free will- But for His love. I could have never repented of my sin, I could have never believed in Him; I could have never experienced joy, I could have never heard, "Ship, Ahoy!" I could have never given Him praise, I could have never prayed each day; I could have never read the Good Book, I could have never had a modest look. I could have never been rid of my pride, I could have never had a Friend at my side; I could have never had a fulfilling life, I could have never had a peace through strife. I could have never been able to tithe, I could have never truly been alive- But for His love. |
